Just-in-time (JIT) and vendor managed inventory (VMI) are manufacturing and retail-specific respectively. Use them if they apply; do not force them.
Certifications Worth Listing
Two APICS credentials carry the most weight in supply chain analyst hiring:
APICS CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) is the broader end-to-end credential, covering supplier relations, demand management, international trade, and technology. It is well-recognized at both the analyst and manager levels.
APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) is more operations-focused, covering production planning, master scheduling, and inventory control. It is particularly valued in manufacturing environments.
